Candleholders
Using candles can create a pleasant and calming ambience in your home. I provide a wide selection of candleholders that may hopefully meet your needs. The candleholders and stands accommodate different candle sizes depending on your needs. Generally, I create them in pairs, but sometimes in threes. I combine various types of wood to offer interesting contrast and apply different finishes, such as ebonising combined with gilt wax, to create unique effects.

I turned this pretty little pair of candlesticks in an exotic tropical wood, Padauk. The candlesticks can hold normal taper candles, although I reduced the height in this instance. I applied a durable lacquer finishthat was then dulled and waxed it to give a warm satin sheen.
Art Deco is a style that I have long admired so I fashioned this pair of candle holders with that in mind. After turning I applied a durable melamine lacquer finish. Finally, they were then dulled and waxed to give a warm satin sheen.
I turned this pair of candlesticks in oak and burnished them before applying wax to give a warm satin patina. You can use them as shown in the photograph or they may be separated to stand alone.
To start with I applied an ebonising lacquer to this pair of candle holders that were turned in Ash. Secondly, they were given an application of gilding wax to create an interesting aspect. They are designed to accept standard taper candles.
Firstly, I turned the iroko to create the base of the candlesticks. Secondly, using maple I turned the three contrasting candlesticks. The resulting set can either stand together or if preferred placed separately. The candlesticks are compatible with standard taper candles. The whole set has been given a durable lacquer finish that was then dulled and finally a wax was applied to achieve a warm lustre.
To begin with I designed these candle stands to take 50mm diameter pillar candles. After I had turned the stands in figured Ash, I applied a melamine finish and then matted and waxed them to give a pleasing finish.
